How to add Synkly as an app + enable notifications

Synkly works as a web app. That means you can add it to your home screen so it feels like a real app — and then enable notifications for reminders and updates.

Tip: For the most “app-like” experience — add Synkly to your home screen first, then enable notifications.

🍏 iPhone / iPad (Safari)

How to add Synkly to your home screen:

1

Open Synkly in Safari
Important: use Safari (not an in-app browser inside Instagram/Facebook).

2

Tap the Share icon
It looks like a square with an arrow pointing up.

3

Select “Add to Home Screen”
Scroll until you see the option.

4

Tap “Add”
Synkly will appear as an icon on your home screen.

Note: On iPhone, push notifications work best when Synkly is installed on your home screen (PWA). If you don’t see the notification prompt, open Synkly and enable notifications from the profile page.

🤖 Android (Chrome)

How to add Synkly to your home screen:

1

Open Synkly in Chrome
Go to Synkly and wait until the page finishes loading.

2

Tap the menu button (⋮)
In the top-right corner of Chrome.

3

Select “Install app” / “Add to Home screen”
The wording may vary between devices.

4

Tap “Install”
Synkly will show up among your apps.

Tip: If you don’t see “Install app”, you can still choose “Add to Home screen”. It’s almost the same experience.

🔔 Enable notifications

Notifications are used for reminders (like “time for a question”) and game updates (if you choose to use them).

1

Open Synkly
Ideally via the home screen icon (if you installed it).

2

When the notification prompt appears — tap “Allow”
If you accidentally tap “Block”, you can change it later (see troubleshooting below).

3

If you don’t get the prompt
Check that notifications aren’t blocked for synkly.se in your browser settings.

Quick tip: If Chrome says you “ignored notifications multiple times”, the browser may automatically block the prompt. You’ll need to reset the permission (see next section).

🛠 Troubleshooting

“Notifications are blocked because you dismissed the prompt too many times” (Chrome)

Open Synkly in Chrome → tap the 🔒 icon next to the address → go to Site settings → under Notifications choose Allow (or reset permissions). Then reload the page.

I open Synkly inside Instagram/Facebook and can’t find “Add to Home Screen”

In-app browsers often have limitations. Copy the link and open it in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android) instead.

I don’t receive notifications on iPhone

Make sure Synkly is added to your home screen and notifications are allowed. Also check iPhone settings → Notifications and verify that Synkly (or Safari/PWA) is allowed to show notifications. If “Do Not Disturb” is enabled, notifications may be silenced.

I want to disable notifications again

iPhone: Settings → Notifications → find Synkly (or the web app entry) → turn off.
Android: Chrome → Site settings → Notifications → block synkly.se.
